Word Hunt (DailyPlay) is a replayable, two-minute word search on a 4×4 letter board. Type words of at least three letters using a connected path of neighboring tiles, then submit them for points before the timer expires.
We played this game from DailyPlay’s collection in desktop casual mode on October 28, 2026. Our unaided full timed round ended at 2,400 points after 12 accepted words and all three shuffles; two short replays checked input and result behavior.
Typing a word still needs a connected path
The official rules allow horizontal, vertical and diagonal connections, but you cannot reuse a tile within one word. Typing saves tracing the path with a pointer; it does not remove the connection requirement.
The displayed rules award 100 points for a three-letter word and 400 for four letters.
Entering CAT again produced “Already found. Try another word.” DOG produced “That word is not in this board’s word list.” Neither attempt reduced our points or increased the move counter, but the clock continued. That second message does not tell you whether the problem is the word itself or its available path, so check the connections before spending more time on a rejected entry.
For desktop play, use the typed input. In our replay, clicking C and then A replaced the input rather than building CA, while typing CAT submitted it successfully. That control advice applies to keyboard play; touch input needs a separate check.
What three shuffles change
A shuffle rearranges the same letters. Our first one left the score at 1,000, increased the move count from four to five and reduced the remaining shuffles to two. On the new layout, SHOW and SHOT each added 400 points.
That makes the shuffle useful when you stop seeing routes, but it is a limited resource. After our third shuffle, the button showed zero remaining and became disabled. We still found HOW and WHO before time expired. If you shuffle late, leave enough time to read the new layout and submit what you find.
The move counter also needs reading carefully: our final 15 moves included three shuffles, alongside the 12 accepted words.
Replaying and keeping a best score
“Play again” reset the timer to 120 seconds, cleared our points and restored three shuffles. That replay used the same starting board. Ending it early at 100 points retained “Your best here: 2,400.” We also checked the dedicated Word Hunt entry, submitted SELL for 400 points and ended that short round normally.
Those checks kept the best score in the same browser. When replaying a familiar board, look again for a route you missed before spending a shuffle on a new layout.
