This Privacy Policy explains what information DlePick ("we", "us") collects when you use dlepick.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. DlePick is an independent publisher. If you have questions, email [email protected].

Information we collect

Ratings and "play again" votes. When you rate a game or vote, we store your rating together with a random identifier saved in a cookie on your device (dlepick_voter), so you can change or clear your vote later. To prevent abuse we also store a keyed, one-way hash of your IP address. We do not store your raw IP address or the raw cookie value with your vote.

Comments. If you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and comment you enter, plus your IP address and browser user-agent, to help detect spam. Your email address is never published.

Game submissions. If you submit a game, we collect the details you enter: the game information and links, and your name (optional) and email address. We use your email only to contact you about that submission, and we never publish it. We do not download or fetch the links you send automatically; an editor opens them manually. Submissions are kept while we consider the game and deleted on request. To prevent abuse we temporarily keep a keyed hash of your IP address for one hour.

Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and email address to reply to you.

Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of the request. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting and are kept for a limited period.

You can browse DlePick and play linked games without creating an account. An account is optional for commenting, suggesting games, following submissions and managing link-partnership requests. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

Google sign-in

If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides our login plugin with your Google account ID, email address, name (including given and family names), and profile picture if available. We use this information to create or connect your DlePick account, sign you in, and show your account name or profile image. We do not receive your Google password.

The login plugin stores the link between your Google account ID and your DlePick account. It can also store an OAuth access token if its token-storage setting is enabled. We use Google account information for sign-in and the account features described above, not for advertising, AI-generated imagery or unrelated Google services. Google sign-in is optional; you can also use an email address and password.

Advertising

DlePick is free to use and may be supported by advertising, including Google AdSense.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.

Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), we will ask for your consent before personalised ads or non-essential cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time.

Embedded games and videos

Our pages can show games and creator videos from other websites, such as YouTube and TikTok, or the game's own site. This content only loads after you click to play it. Once loaded, the third party may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction under its own privacy policy, just as if you had visited that site directly.

How we use information

to run the site and show aggregated player ratings;
to create and secure optional accounts and provide commenting, suggestions and submission management;
to prevent spam, abuse and duplicate voting;
to reply to your messages, handle corrections and consider game submissions;
to keep the site secure and fix problems;
to show advertising that keeps the site free, as described above.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it except with service providers that help us run the site (such as hosting), advertising partners as described above, or where required by law.

Legal bases (EEA and UK)

We rely on our legitimate interests to operate the site, show ratings and prevent abuse; on your consent for personalised advertising and non-essential cookies; and on your request when we reply to a message or provide an account you choose to create.

How long we keep information

Ratings and their hashes are kept for as long as the game page exists or until you clear your vote. The voter cookie expires after one year. Comments are kept until they are deleted. Emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request. Account details, including information obtained through Google sign-in, are kept while your account is active. You can request account deletion by emailing us; we may retain limited records where required for legal or security reasons.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to know whether personal information is "sold" or "shared". We do not sell personal information. To make a request, email [email protected] with "Privacy" in the subject line. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

DlePick is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International visitors

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Accounts and link partnerships

If you create an account to comment, suggest games, follow submissions or request a followed link, we store your name and email address, an account password hash if you register with email, and the comments, suggestions, submissions and link-partnership requests tied to your account. A full game submission can also be sent without an account. We use account information to operate these features, review submissions and administer link partnerships. We never sell this information, and we never fetch or crawl your website automatically: a human editor opens the page you send us, once, to confirm our link is there. Email us to export or delete your account.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
