Dragonslayer is a 1981 fantasy film directed by Matthew Robbins, in which Peter MacNicol's apprentice sorcerer confronts the dragon Vermithrax Pejorative. Its Industrial Light and Magic creature work earned an Oscar nomination and still holds up.
The clips are moody: torch-lit caves, misty lakes and a medieval kingdom that looks genuinely lived in.
